COMMENTARY: EXTRAORDINARY EVIDENCE
While most people are unaware of it, the evidence gathered on the paranormal and the afterlife is extraordinary. For example, Dr. Edwin May and his associates combined the results of all 26,000 trials in 154 experiments on psychic phenomena conducted at the Stanford Research Institute from 1973 to 1988. They found that psychic phenomena had been shown to exist with odds against chance of more than a billion billion to one. (Radin 1997:101).
Every culture in the world has accepted that the paranormal and the afterlife exist, based on repeated observations of telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, near-death experiences, deathbed visions, and after-death communications. When we take this into account, together with 170 years of modern experimental evidence outlined in our book A Lawyer Presents the Evidence for the Afterlife, the existence of the paranormal and the afterlife are not at all 'extraordinary' claims.
Far more extraordinary is the claim, made without ANY evidence whatsoever, and in opposition to the lived experience of every culture that has ever existed, that there is no afterlife, no paranormal, and that matter can produce consciousness.
ATHEIST DIES; SHOCKED BY THE OTHER SIDE (NDE)
Nancy Rynes, an atheist and scientist, had an NDE (Near-Death Experience) after being hit by an SUV while riding her bike, where she went to Heaven and met God and an angel. An NDE (Near-Death Experience) occurs when someone dies, is revived, and learns there is life after death. Nancy's NDE (Near-Death Experience) was a life-altering experience that changed her entire life.

WHAT IF DEATH IS AN ILLUSION? LARRY DOSSEY M.D. (1940-2026)
Dr. Larry Dossey, MD—former Chief of Staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital and author of 13 books on consciousness and spirituality passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the age of 85, with his wife and life partner, Barbie (Barbara Montgomery Dossey), by his side.
At the IANDS conference in 2017, he delivered a powerful presentation exploring near-death experiences (NDEs), non-local consciousness, and the scientific case for immortality. Dossey examined evidence from NDE studies, twin telepathy, precognitive dreams, healing miracles, and laboratory experiments suggesting that consciousness may be fundamental and non-local—independent of the body.

When Oliver Haines lost his wife of thirty years to cancer, like many bereaved people, he began to search for evidence of life after death.
