COMMENTARY: THANKING DR. JULIE BEISCHEL
We were very sad to learn that Dr. Julie Beischel,
PhD, has had to step away from an active role at the Windbridge Research Centre that she co-founded in 2017. That Centre continued the work of the Windbridge Institute that she also co-founded in 2008.
According to an announcement on the Windbridge Centre's website, "Julie has been living with a chronic degenerative health condition that has progressively limited her ability to continue her work in mediumship research. As a result, she is no longer able to maintain an active role at the Center. This means she will no longer be conducting research, writing or reviewing scientific papers or books, participating in media outreach, or granting interviews".
Julie's contribution as the credible and balanced face of mediumship research has been monumental and I'm sure all of our readers will join us in thanking her for the enormous contributions she has made in making mediumship scientifically "respectable".
As Afterlife researcher Michael Tymn writes:
"It has been only in the last 15 or so years that a few courageous scientists have risked showing any interest in studying mediumship and picking up where [the] esteemed researchers of yesteryear left off. Dr. Beischel is one of those few.”

The Work of the Centre will continue under the direction of Dr. Beischel's partner and co-researcher, Dr. Mark Boccuzzi, and a new Senior Scientist, Dr. Lisa Conboy.
"Looking ahead, the Windbridge Research Center will continue some modest research efforts. However, the primary focus will shift toward education. This includes expanding and maintaining resources such as fact sheets, website content, blogs, podcasts, and videos. These materials are intended to support individuals exploring questions and experiences related to dying, death, and the afterlife."
