COMMENTARY: DO POLICE WORK WITH PSYCHICS?
There are many cases on record where gifted psychics and mediums have worked closely with police officers to find missing people and solve crimes. But there are very good reasons why police do not make this public.
1) Police are drilled in scientific procedures and forensic science. Their culture is very skeptical and the police want to appear able to do their job properly without help.
2) If it became public that the police use psychics, they would have hundreds of well-meaning amateur psychics contacting them and wasting their time.
3) Even the best psychics and mediums are only 80% correct. The information comes to them in pieces. They have to interpret symbols and snatches of words.
For the police to invest money on a search that does not produce evidence would be very damaging. And, in any event, evidence from a psychic cannot usually be used in court.
4) Some psychics have been threatened because their involvement with police was made public. If police find a gifted psychic, they would want to protect them so they can continue to use them.

A BRAZILIAN CASE WHERE A MEDIUM'S INFORMATION WAS ADMITTED IN COURT As well as writing 496 books dictated by spirits, Chico Xavier psychographed more than 10,000 personal letters from spirits to their loved ones. He never accepted payment and because of this his house was always full of people. Many times he slept only 4 hours a day. The contents of his psychographed letters were admitted in Brazilian courts 3 times - in 1979, 1982, and 1985. The most well-documented case involves José Divino Nunes, who was accused of murdering his best friend, Maurício Henriques Garcez. A judge accepted a psychographed letter said to be from the spirit of Maurício as supplemental evidence that the shooting was an accident.

OVER A CENTURY OF RESEARCH ON AFTER-DEATH COMMUNICATION A fascinating paper by Sylvia Hart-Wright was published in the July 2008 issue of the Journal of Spirituality and Paranormal Studies. The abstract reads as follows:
"Unexpected and unsought contact with the dead has been sensed since time immemorial around the world. Serious research on this phenomenon started over a century ago. Ambitious studies done in Britain and France collected thousands of accounts of after-death communication, many of them evidential. MATERIALIST SCIENTIST HAS SUDDEN AWAKENING
