COMMENTARY: SEEKING YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE OF THE AFTERLIFE We often receive emails from people who ask how they can have their own direct experiences of the afterlife - different from going to a medium. They are open and curious and want to be convinced by personal experience.
Our friend Josh Langley, who today lives in Perth, Australia, set out on a quest to have personal experience of the afterlife and began a three-year journey. Ten years ago he wrote a book about it called "Dying to Know - Is There Life After Death?". Then an award-winning copywriter with a quirky sense of humor, he outlined how he went about it.

HAVING PERSONAL EXPERIENCES Some people have direct experiences through NDEs, living in a haunted house, or travelling to South America to try ayahuasca. While organising these might be impractical for you, last week's Friday Afterlife Report contained some excellent suggestions on ways to contact your inner guidance system. Many people claim to have done so by spending 10 minutes a day sitting quietly and listening. Once the connection is made, the "inner voice" can lead you to the people, places, and experiences you are seeking as well as make you more sensitive to the subtle signals through which spirits communicate.
Taking a class, visiting a Spiritualist Church or a New Age shop, attending an afterlife conference, or joining a meditation group can lead to life-changing connections. Anyone can attend an in-person or online meeting of IANDS, watch some of the thousands of testimonies of near-death experiencers on You Tube, or join some of these free Afterlife Zoom groups.
ASKING FOR A DREAM VISIT We are told that one of the easiest ways for our loved ones in spirit to get through to us is in a dream visit when our conscious mind is no longer blocking communication. It's common to wake up immediately after a dream visit and to remember its detail for years to come. To make it easier for your loved ones to visit you in dreams, start paying attention to your dreams and writing them down the next day. Have a notebook and pen by your bed, and let your loved ones know before you go to sleep that you’d like a visit from them. Medium Susanne Wilson has some other excellent suggestions.
SUZI SMITH ON THE JOURNEY FROM GRIEF TO PEACE
Suzi Smith, who 'lost' a son to suicide, learned about the afterlife by helping others. She listened to her inner voice and became a hospice volunteer. She now works as a volunteer counselor to other parents who have lost children. She says that she is now at a place in her life where she no longer feels pain, guilt, or remorse.
DR. CRAIG HOGAN'S SELF-GUIDED AFTERLIFE CONNECTIONS Dr. Craig Hogan has been guiding people on how to find evidence for the afterlife for more than thirty years. He claims that "today, most people are able to have afterlife
communication with loved ones who have crossed over." One of the most successful methods is his Self-guided Afterlife Connections. It uses a procedure available free on the Internet that anyone can go through in their home, at any time. It is 86% successful in helping people have connections.
LEARNING ABOUT LIFE BETWEEN LIVES
Richard Martini became interested in the afterlife after his friend, Luana Anders, died in his arms. Just after she passed, she began appearing in his dreams — and he could hear her voice in his apartment. She looked much younger but he knew that it was her. This reunion began his more than twenty-year exploration of the afterlife, life between lives, reincarnation, and life planning. Earlier this year we introduced you to the Cosmic Voices Network. It aims to bring together some of the most profound wisdom and creative inspiration received recently from a variety of channeled sources. 1) "When I visited my mother, in England, over a year after my daughter's death, I attended a few services at spiritualist churches. A local medium was leading the service, and she was so compelling that I asked her if I could see her privately. She agreed but said she was too booked up and that I would have to wait a few months. My friend made an appointment and we went together to see her. This turned out to be the most amazing experience. My daughter came told the medium her name, how she had died, and many details about her life. She apologized for taking her life. This was a pivotal point in my grief process." A.
2) "I read a lot of Spiritual books; my first book was from Betty J Eadie 'Embraced by the Light' - it opened my eyes - and it was followed by lots of others and eventually I had my own OBE/NDE". V.

"Every night before you fall asleep hold the intention to have an out-of-body experience or ‘astral projection’ whilst fully conscious and awake in the sleep state. You can also state that “I am astral projecting and I am meeting...my passed over loved one... I am fully awake and aware in the dream state.”
I have used this method along with imagining myself spinning around in a pool of water (William Buhlman) technique, before falling asleep. I have experienced dissolving the dream once lucid and all the vibrations, to then shooting out of my body, as well as becoming aware in the second attention whilst sleeping and in the astral realm, and then the vibrations start… I have been tested at this point by the ‘dweller on the threshold’ where my fears arise and I have had to confront them and continue whereby I have either left through the ceiling or a wall or window or simply found myself flying through a vortex. I was also taken out-of-body whilst meditating and met my partner on the other side. It is achievable it just takes practice and the ability to face and move through one’s deepest fears... not always easy, but it’s about mind mastery I suppose. Give it a go!"

4) "EVP has helped me to have meaningful personal experiences with a number of people in the afterlife.
People think that the spirits are far away and send signals to the devices used in EVP, like a radio signal. My experience is that the spirits are there in the room with you. I can see them out of the corner of my eye. If I do EVP sessions regularly enough, then the spirits tend to “hang out” with me and communicate with me in other ways, like changing my TV channels".
