COMMENTARY: HAPPY HALLOWEEN
In many places Halloween will be celebrated this Saturday. People will be dressing up in costumes, connecting with their communities, and making fun of their fears. It is kids and families and communities having fun together and generating a lot of happy memories.
And while it is a fun festival
that brings people together, it certainly highlights that there is still a lot of work to do in terms of educating people about the afterlife.
Yes, it's not all love and light on the astral level and in other dimensions. Just as there are places on planet Earth that you would not want to venture into alone and unprotected, there are certain rules to follow with afterlife contact. But religion, superstition, and Hollywood have overdone the "spooky" factor, associating spirit contact with darkness, fear, horror, and evil.
Fear is a natural response to the unknown, but we are fortunate today that the afterlife is no longer completely unknown. We have wonderful afterlife researchers, mediums, out-of-body explorers and teachers. They are showing us that death is like moving from one room to another, and that contact with our loved ones who have died is a very natural process.
SOME "GHOSTS" ARE DECEASED HUMANS WHO HAVE NOT MOVED ON
In most cultures, there are those who claim that some spirits do not immediately cross over to the light when they die. Those who have had no spiritual training may become confused, especially so if they died suddenly and traumatically (see 14 Ghost Stories Shared By Tsunami Survivors).
Others stay close to the earth because of addictions, unresolved guilt, fear of judgment or unfinished business (as depicted in the movie "Ghost"). Their loved ones may be trying to reach them but are unable to do so because their thoughts are blocking contact.
LIFE IN THE WORLD UNSEEN
Monsignor Hugh Benson, from the afterlife in the book he transmitted through medium Anthony Bogia wrote:
“There is a surprising number of people who do not realise that they have passed from the earth in the death of the physical body. Resolutely they will not believe that they are what the earth would call “dead”. They are dimly aware that some sort of change has taken place, but what that change is they are not prepared to say. Some, after a little explanation—and even demonstration—can grasp what has actually happened; others are stubborn, and will be convinced only after prolonged reasoning.” (Life in the World Unseen p. 100).
HARRY STAYED CLOSE TO EARTH WHEN HE DIED We have many direct first-hand accounts of what happened to people when they died through more than 600 recordings made by Betty Green and George Woods. The information came from people in spirit speaking through direct-voice medium Leslie Flint.
One of those recordings is of a spirit named Harry, who turned up at a Leslie Flint sitting in 1957. Harry says that he didn't believe in an afterlife and when he died, he stayed around his friends. He went to pubs and then realised he could now travel the world. But no one could hear him, and no one could see him, so it was a lonely existence as an Earth-bound spirit.
After some time, he sensed another spirit following him, so he found a quiet place and sent out a thought asking for help. Read or listen to what happened.

MEDIUMS REGINA OCHOA AND JEANNE LOVE SHARE EXPERIENCES OF HELPING SPIRITS TRANSITION

NOT ALL "GHOSTS" ARE SPIRIT PEOPLE
In residual haunting cases, people report seeing, hearing, feeling, or even smelling the presence of "people" engaged in some sort of activity. They do not interact with the observer and go about their action in a set way, as if in a movie. In these cases, people may hear the sounds of screaming, crying, breathing, phantom footsteps walking on the stairs or through hallways, or even odd, repetitive sounds like tapping or slamming. HARRY MARTINDALE AND THE ROMAN SOLDIERS Parapsychologists would say that Harry Martindale's 'ghosts' fit the category of a residual haunting and are not real spirit people. The soldiers don't interact with the observers and just continue marching as though no-one is there, just like a holographic video recording.
A RECENT EVP RECORDING SUPPORTING THE IMPRINT THEORY
At our Global Gathering last week, EVP experimenter Vicki Talbott told us how she left a voice-activated recorder in the console of her locked car in an isolated place and, when she checked, she found a recording on it of native Americans drumming and chanting.
GHOSTS AND POLTERGEISTS While ghosts and haunting activity result from spirit energy, poltergeist activity—also known as "recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis" or RSPK—is believed to be primarily the result of psychic energy generated (usually unconsciously) by a person, referred to as an agent. DR. CRAIG HOGAN'S SELF-GUIDED AFTERLIFE CONNECTIONS Craig claims that "today, most people are able to have afterlife communication with loved ones who have crossed over."One of the most successful methods is Self-guided Afterlife Connections. It uses a procedure available free on the Internet that anyone can go through in their home, at any time. It is 86% successful in helping people have connections.
For those who feel that they need help to do this initially, Rochelle Wright has devised a procedure that is performed by psychotherapists in their offices.
