COMMENTARY: BIAL FOUNDATION GRANT TO STUDY CELL PHONE AFTER-DEATH CONTACT For the last few years, we have been receiving regular reports about after-death contacts by video, pictures, and text messages on cell phones. So it is wonderful to see more and more academics ignoring prejudice and stepping forward to study afterlife topics seriously.
We are delighted to learn that Dr. Imants Barušs has been awarded a $44,500 grant by the Bial Foundation to study these phenomena. Last year, Dr. Barušs and Durra Kadiragha completed a pilot study involving 21 participants who claimed to have received phone calls (35%), photos or videos (20%), text messages (20%), non-vocal sounds during telephone calls or on voicemail (15%), or extraneous voices during telephone calls (10%), from deceased family or friends. Their findings were presented at an online joint meeting of the Society for Scientific Exploration and the Parapsychological Association in July 2021.
The Portuguese Bial Foundation supports the scientific study of the human being from both physical and spiritual perspectives. Dr. Barušs says the BIAL Foundation grant will allow him to build on this study over two years, as well as his previous research into instrumental transcommunication (communication with deceased persons through an electronic device). CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE SCIENTIFIC AND MEDICAL NETWORK The Scientific and Medical Network was initially an invitation-only organisation, as it developed into its early form as a place for scientists and medics to debate and dialogue about questions and ideas that were considered taboo in orthodox departments. It has hosted events on issues such as non-local consciousness, alternative forms of healing, paranormal phenomena, and mystical experience. VERIDICAL EXPERIENCES DURING NDEs A significant number of near-death experiencers can describe exactly what happened to them while they were unconscious. They knew who was present and what people were talking about even at a distance. Researchers call these ‘veridical experiences’. Fortunately, a number of credible doctors have been courageous enough to "go public" and verify the accounts of their patients. CARDIOLOGIST SHARES VERIDICAL NDE
In this video, famous cardiac surgeon Dr. Lloyd Rudy talks with Dr. Mike Milligan about an NDE case where the patient was dead but was able to describe everything that happened in the operating room, including post-it notes with messages put onto the computer monitor of the surgeon after the operation had commenced. THE DUTCH DENTURES Dr. Pim Van Lommel tells about the case of a patient who claimed he saw where a nurse put his dentures while he was unconscious. The nurse had not been in the room before the operation began. A week later the patient saw the nurse again and was then able to ask where his dentures had been left. (Van Lommel et. al. 2001).
THE DOCTOR WAS FLAPPING HIS ARMS
Al Sullivan saw his cardiologist, Dr. Hero Takata, flapping his arms while in the operating room, something that would have been impossible for him to see or know about while he was unconscious.
DR. SABOM'S STUDY Dr. Michael Sabom found that 80% of his patients who had a heart attack without having an NDE could not describe how they were revived. TABLE TIPPING PHENOMENA FILMED UNDER CONTROLLED CONDITIONS Professor Eckhart Kruse is another courageous scientist who has been prepared to investigate unconventional areas. Table tilting is a phenomenon frequently encountered at the beginning of development in a physical mediumship circle. Because it usually occurs in total darkness, it is difficult to photograph. Dr. Kruse has been developing ways for the medium to control minimal amounts of infrared light so the movement can be videoed. He also attaches monitors under the table to show that there is no human cause of the movement. Read more.

Anika Schäller (Austria) lost her three-year-old child under tragic circumstances. After-death-contacts and out-of-body experiences convinced her that her daughter is doing well.
