COMMENTARY: AFTER-DEATH COMMUNICATION IS NORMAL In her 1961 book "Conversations with Tom: An Adventure in After-Death Communication" Walda Woods complained that the people around her were not able to handle her ongoing relationship with her deceased spouse.
She wrote:"During the months after Tom died, it became evident to me that our culture and society do not know how to grieve or deal with those who are grieving. I was also amazed at how most people reacted to the paranormal side of death and the afterlife. Discussion on this topic was hushed, and people who had experienced such phenomena were made to feel as if they were emotionally off-balance. How sad!"
This is the issue that Stephen Berkley deals with so brilliantly in his movie "Life With Ghosts: Science Weighs in on the Healing Power of ADCs". The movie provides an excellent opportunity to broach the subject of After-Death Communication. Stephen now leads a monthly Zoom group on the first Monday of the month - the next one will be on Monday 1st December (see Zoom groups below).
RESEARCHERS ALL AGREE Those who researched this issue found that a high proportion of people in every country experienced after-death communications.
Dr. W.D. Rees, a British physician found that of a sample of widows in Wales, forty-seven percent had experiences—often repeatedly over several years—that convinced them that their dead husbands had been in contact with them (Rees 1971: 37-41).
An earlier British experiment by Dr. P. Marris (1958) found a figure of fifty percent.
