COMMENTARY: THE ILLUSION OF SOLID MATTER Many people wonder how we can accept that the afterlife realms can be as solid as Earth life.
One answer lies in decades of research into quantum physics, the study of the characteristics of and relationships between subatomic particles and energies.
We now know that despite their apparent solidity, atoms are 99.999999999% empty space and that subatomic particles- electrons, protons and neutrons, etc- are not solid either. They are made up of waves of energy and when they are observed or interact with other particles, they change their behavior and location.
So the world we think of as being solid is in fact empty space filled with waves of energy. Physicists remind us that beings who are not equipped with our sensory system would not see earth life the way we do - instead, they would perceive it as waves of energy.
This means that there is plenty of room for other worlds, other dimensions, to take up the same space as our own world but at a different frequency. We know this happens when different radio stations and different television stations and microwaves and x-rays are all present in the same room but cannot be detected without the right kind of receiver.
MATTER IS AN ILLUSION This educational film is called "Invisible Forces" and was produced by the Moody Institute of Science in Los Angeles in the 1950s. The demonstrations are very impressive even by today's standards.
THE EARTH-LIKE ASTRAL WORLD Back in 1961, Frederick C. Sculthorpe described his out-of-body excursions into the astral world (the lower regions of the afterlife) in a book that is almost identical in detail to accounts by Swedenborg and those in "Life in the World Unseen" dictated by Mons. Hugh Benson to Anthony Borgia. He says that it takes time for a person's astral body to synchronise with the vibration of a particular level which may explain why some out-of-body experiencers feel that they don't have a body. DANNION BRINKLEY'S MESSAGE - YOU WILL NEVER DIE
Dannion Brinkley is the author of a best-selling book about one of his near-death
experiences, "Saved by the Light" (1995), and a series of subsequent books. In September 1975 he was talking on the telephone during a thunderstorm when he was struck by lightning and 'died'. He was clinically dead for more than 20 minutes. But between leaving his body and returning to it, he had an extraordinary experience. He visited a spiritual realm and was brought before 13 angelic instructors in what he describes as 'a cathedral of knowledge'. He had a life review that was a personal wake-up call and in the almost fifty years since his NDE he has used the psychic and spiritual gifts he received to help the dying and the desperate.
NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES LEAD TO INCREASED PSYCHIC ABILITIES
Researcher PMH Atwater says experiencers who weren't psychic before their NDE often develop these abilities. Those who were psychic beforehand, usually 'skyrocket'. She says, "Out-of-body experiences can continue, the light beings met in death can become a daily part of life routines, the future is often known before it occurs, extrasensory perception becomes normal and ordinary." The difficult ones were hard to talk about and changed her future life forever!
PSYCHIC WIFE SAVES GENERAL GRANT A few days after General Ulysses S. Grant accepted the surrender of Confederate General Robert E. Lee, Washington was celebrating. Attending the festivities were Grant and his wife, Julia. The morning after a reception to honor Grant, Julia woke with an uneasy feeling and a strong desire to return to their home. Grant, who was committed to attending various functions, gave in to his wife's urging and left Washington that evening. The Grants were to sit next to the Lincolns at the Ford Theatre that night. COMMUNICATION WITH OUR LOVED ONES BEYOND THE VEIL WITH EVP Vicki Talbott is a retired TESOL/Linguistics professor.
