COMMENTARY: LAWYERS WHO INVESTIGATED THE AFTERLIFE We should all be forever grateful for the credible men and women, often at the top of their professions, who investigated the evidence for the afterlife and were prepared to make a public stand to support it. Most of them had absolutely nothing to gain and often acted at great personal cost.
The testimonies of the many lawyers and judges among the early afterlife investigators are convincing since they had the advantage of experience in evaluating the credibility of witnesses and assessing the strength of evidence in real-life situations. As the famous afterlife researcher Edward C. Randall put it, "let me say that over twenty years in the active practice of law, largely in trial cases, coming in contact with many great minds, has qualified me to do certain things: i.e. to estimate the weight and value of evidence fairly; to detect fraud in any guise; to know when a fact is proved.”
Edward C. Randall was one of many lawyers and judges who made an enormous contribution to afterlife research. He approached the investigation of the afterlife as an open-minded skeptic. He and his wife spent twenty-two years recording sittings with a brilliant direct voice medium, Mrs. Emily French. He then wrote seven stunning books on their experiences. N. IF ONLY EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT THE AFTERLIFE Recently Sonia Rinaldi recorded a heartfelt message to the members of her Patreon group expressing her regret that the world is not more advanced in assembling and disseminating the scientific evidence for the afterlife. She feels that this should have been ready 20 years ago and possibly could have influenced people and countries to come together more to deal with global challenges. ON THE WORK OF EDWARD RANDALL Riley Heagerty contends that
humanity already has all the evidence that is needed to prove 100 times over that life after death exists thanks to the physical mediums who gave so much during what he calls "the century of wonders"
from 1850 to about 1950.
THE MAGIC OF MATERIALIZATIONS As well as investigating electronic communication, George Meek personally investigated, and validated, physical mediumship. He attended seances in Brazil and sat with direct voice medium Leslie Flint in England. In his book After We Die, What Then? Meek references the work of Nobel prize-winning Professor Richet (pictured left), who conducted experiments in physical mediumship in France. Baron Schrenck Notzing in Phenomena of Materialization sums up hundreds of experiments in the period up to 1923 which were conducted and witnessed by eminent men and women of science.

Two of his male friends reported similar events. Using her academic skills, Wright started researching the writings of doctors and social scientists on after-death communications. In time she interviewed almost a hundred healthy everyday people who had sensed contact with the dead. It addresses subjects related to the afterlife, reincarnation, religion, consciousness, paranormal phenomena, past life regression, life between lives, and more. A great feature of the library is a section where you can ask for recommendations for books on a particular topic, for example, "What does the afterlife look like"?
SHOULD PEOPLE BE TOLD THAT THEY ARE DYING? Matthew O’Reilly is a veteran emergency medical technician on Long Island, New York. In this talk, O’Reilly describes what happens when a gravely hurt patient asks him: “Am I going to die?” and talks about the three wishes most frequently expressed by the dying.
THREE MORE BOOKS BY MONSIGNOR ROBERT HUGH BENSON Most of our readers would be familiar with "Life in the World Unseen", a best-selling book that describes conditions in the afterlife. Anthony Borgia received the information in that book clairaudiently from Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, a friend from his school days. He then verified it word for word by talking with Mons. Benson through a trance medium.
But three other books by the same author are less well known. They have recently been re-published by Ann Harrison of Saturday Night Press Publications. Facts (1946) points out some of the distortions in Church teachings. More Light (1947) suggests that it is necessary to develop our latent psychic powers so that we might communicate freely with our loved ones, as was always intended. Heaven and Earth (1948) comments on important topics, such as colour, beauty, service, religious unity, and how to achieve world-wide peace. AVOIDING MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE SILVER CORDThe Universal Spiritual Brother & Sisterhood (USB) teaches that when the spirit body travels, as it so often does in the sleep state, it remains connected to the physical body by “the silver cord”, which is incredibly elastic. When that cord is severed, what we call “death” takes place: the spirit body is instantly separated from the physical body it had inhabited, without any pain or injury to the spirit body itself.
Some people believe that the silver cord is not fully severed until about seventy‑two hours after death and that the spirit body may suffer pain or injury if burial or cremation takes place before then. However, the USB stresses that this is just not so, unless, of course, that person has been led to believe it is, and therefore expects it. Hence the need to enter the spirit world with as few misconceptions as possible! The teachings from the USB can be found in the book Spiritual Light.

In fact, the song's got nothing to do with romance or ships; it's an account of mankind's spiritual odyssey through life on the way to freedom and fulfillment with the Supreme Being".
It's always good to remember that we are eternal beings on a very long spiritual journey so that we don't get too caught up in the dramas of our very short Earth lives.
