COMMENTARY:
'LONG TERM' PLANNERS GET IT RIGHT As some of you may have found, not everyone is interested in the afterlife. You have a small group who are total skeptics, but the vast majority of people are focused on the problems and issues of day-to-day life. Unless someone close to them dies, they don't give it a second thought. When you ask them if they know what's going to happen to them when they die, they either answer with religious cliches about going to heaven or shrug their shoulders and change the subject. They say that nobody really knows and that there will be plenty of time to think about the inevitable future "when the time comes".
However, long-term planners find the subject of extreme interest. They sense that there is a bigger picture and are impressed by things they have heard about near-death experiences and after-death contacts. They may even have had an evidential reading with a medium. They realise that their time here is passing very quickly and that if there is an afterlife it makes sense to learn as much as possible about it in advance. It's just like someone who intends to move to another country learning the language and talking to others who already live there before they leave.
CONSCIOUSNESS CONTINUES: NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES AND THE AFTER-EFFECTS
Heather Dominguez is an independent filmmaker and author from Portland, Oregon. She created a short film Consciousness Continues featuring Louisa Peck, Roland A. Webb, and Kimberly Clark Sharp that was very well received at various film festivals.
She was invited to submit her plan for a 22 episode series to the Discovery Network and in 2016 she published a a book that outlined the series.
After 7 months, the Discovery Network decided not to go ahead, so Heather is producing this series on her own. So far she has produced episode one and episode two (below).
