COMMENTARY: FIGHTING THE EPIDEMIC
OF FEAR Studies
by psychologists show individuals typically overestimate
risks that are memorable, vivid, or generate fear, while
underestimating more common risks.
The novel coronavirus is a serious threat and we need to
do what we can to "flatten
the curve", but the disease itself is not a threat
to life on Earth. There are many more diseases that we are
already familiar with, that are far more deadly. We need
to prepare for it but not overreact.
As Darren
Shulte points out, "in many infectious diseases,
the immune system’s reaction to a virus, bacteria,
or other pathogen can cause greater harm to the infected
individual than the pathogen itself. Sepsis is a deadly
example of this phenomenon. Triggered by an infection, the
immune system overreacts, releasing chemicals called cytokines
that make blood vessels become leaky. That can ultimately
reduce oxygen delivery to vital organs, which may cause
organ failure. Sepsis kills
more than 10 million people a year."
We need to take the standard
precautions that are widely advertised, and do what we can
to build up our immune systems. But in times of stress and
change, it is important to stay grounded and remember that
we are spiritual beings having a very temporary human experience.
We are all going to transition - remember there is no death.
But while we are in this incarnation, what really matters,
in the final analysis, is how much love we show to others,
and how we treat them.

experience that can come to him in any phase of life that

creates its own prison for the soul. You must learn to rise

QUOTE SILVER BIRCH?
Silver Birch is a high-level spirit teacher
who for 61 years transmitted information through trance
medium Maurice Barbanell. He came through to an established
physical and trance circle that met monthly in the home
of London author and journalist and drama critic Hannan
Swaffer. Silver Birch was one of a number of guides that

THE PASSING OF AN INSPIRATIONAL DOCTOR
World-renowned Sydney gynecologist
Dr. Catherine Hamlin died at her home on Wednesday in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia. She was 96. Dr. Hamlin, together with her
husband, the late Dr. Reg Hamlin, established treatment
centres for women suffering from the debilitating effects
of obstetric fistula. This crippling condition results from
complications in childbirth almost unknown in the West.
Over the past 61 years, more than 60,000 Ethiopian women
have received the life-changing reconstructive surgery for
obstetric fistula, thanks to the Hamlins' dedication. Carolyn
Hardy, chief executive officer of Catherine Hamlin Fistula
Foundation, said on Thursday "To say Catherine was
a remarkable woman is an understatement. In our eyes, she
was a saint."
