WHAT DOES CHRISTMAS MEAN TO YOU?
For many people it's the time of year to take a few
days off - a time for renewing family relationships,
for relaxing, for resting. Also, there is a sense of
things ending and new beginnings. For the religious,
especially for Christians, it is a time to enjoy the
comfort of a community and a familiar ritual.
Other
people see Christmas as a time to withdraw from the
world and go 'within'. Silver Birch, a highly credible
afterlife teacher who spoke through trance medium Maurice
Barbanell, claimed that at Christmas time advanced spirits
on the other side take time out from their normal duties.
They go on a kind of retreat where they share experiences,
and get guidance from higher spirits including 'The
Nazarene', as he calls Jesus. “Instead of celebrating
the dawn of the new life, we now use it to withdraw
from the world of matter to get new power of the spirit
so that we can bring new light to the world.”

BILL GUGGENHEIM ON AFTER-DEATH COMMUNICATIONS Bill

In a study of cases of psychic premonitions of danger,
The Rhine Research
Center found that in two thirds of the cases there
was not enough information to take preventive action.
But in the remaining one third of cases, actions taken
to avoid the danger were successful in two cases out

conductor who had a dream of a terrible accident with
a bright red truck. He awoke soaked in perspiration.
Later that day a sequence of specific events began that
triggered his memory of the dream. He slammed on the
brakes and shut off the power. A truck shot directly
in his path which his streetcar would certainly have
hit had he not put on the brakes. He saw in the truck
the same three people that in his dream he had seen

of the most popular events in Spiritualism was the annual
Xmas Tree Party for spirit children held by Leslie Flint
at his home in Bayswater, London. Presents were provided
for spirit children. They would arrive and sitters would
hear them unwrapping the presents. Because they had
a memory of what the presents looked like, they were
able to re-create them by thought when they went back
in the astral world. The physical presents were then
given to a local hospital. Other physical mediums, including
