COMMENTARY: LIBERATE YOUR MIND It
is very important to distinguish between subjective, personal
evidence and objective, scientific evidence. Personal
subjective evidence (e.g. I saw my grandmother standing
at the foot of my bed after she died) is the evidence
which is most convincing to the individual. But it is
less convincing to others who did not share your experience.
In legal cases we have different levels of evidence. 1) anecdotal - evidence collected in
a casual or informal manner and relying heavily or entirely
on personal testimony. This is what people are saying
or writing on Facebook. 2) prima facie ('on the face of it')
denotes evidence that, unless rebutted, would be sufficient
to prove a particular proposition or fact. 3) evidence which convinces on balance
of probabilities. This is the civil test of evidence,
more likely than not, roughly above 51%. 4) evidence which convinces beyond a
reasonable doubt, roughly above 75%. 5) the 'Cartesian' test - 100% beyond
any doubt. These days there is a great deal of evidence
for the paranormal and the afterlife which can no longer
be dismissed as anecdotal or prima facie. And, as outlined

WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I BEGAN TO
QUESTION MY NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE Wendy

Archie Roy completed a five year study of mediums
in a project called PRISM (Psychic Research Involving
