WHY
IS IT IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND 'COGNITIVE DISSONANCE' ?
A highly under-rated concept, but one which it is most
critical for all of us to understand. It explains why
a gifted psychic gives the skeptics a lot of anxiety.
It seems that any information which is fundamentally inconsistent
with a person's deeply held beliefs will be automatically
rejected on the grounds that it is 'dissonant' or inconsistent
with the existing beliefs. The stubborn person concerned
- could be a closed minded skeptic or someone else with
strongly held religious or political beliefs - will keep
on rationalizing that their own beliefs have to be correct.
This is because of the years of effort they have spent
gathering information to support those beliefs.

CHILD PRODIGIES- MEDIUMSHIP? EVIDENCE OF REINCARNATION?
Many so-called child prodigies
can be explained by genetics or early training by zealous
parents. But more impressive is when the child excels
in skills different from those of his parents and shows
knowledge he could not have gained from his/her environment.
At age 2 Jay Greenberg asked his parents for a cello and
knew how to play it and write down the music he composed.

DIRECT VOICE MEDIUMSHIP- THE BEST
EVIDENCE OF THE AFTERLIFE? Direct

is part of what is called physical mediumship. It
is completely different to channeling or trance mediumship.
The Spirit team are able to create an artificial voice
box outside the medium's body made with ectoplasm- a substance

HOW TO RUN A DIRECT VOICE CIRCLE: "
Now the direct 
voice
is obviously the most interesting and most evidential
of all forms of mediumship. Comparatively few home circles,
however, seriously sit for it - the reason being that
development requires patience, it frequently being said
that six or seven years is required before the voice is
obtained. In my opinion and experience this is incorrect.
If all the rules are scrupulously observed, direct voice
should start within six months, and subsidiary phenomena
such as spirit lights and movement of the trumpet should
be experienced long before that. Where circles do not
develop direct voice for several years it will generally
be found that one or other of the rules is being neglected.

BRILLIANT SEANCES
IN NEW ZEALAND! We
have been receiving wonderful reports of the recent tour
of New Zealand by physical medium David
Thompson and teacher of mediumship Christine
Morgan. 
Two amazing seances were held at the Mackelvie West Spiritualist

THE HORRIFIC 'INQUISITION' - TIME FOR THE CHURCH TO APOLOGIZE:

Church
to apologize for the
Inquisition - where, over
six centuries, people were tortured
and burnt alive for their beliefs . There is a strange
reluctance by the Church to discuss the Inquisition. On
the one hand the Church teaches that it is God's commandment
that 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' - and on the other the Church
is on record for sponsoring or approving the killing of
people from all around the world - throughout Europe,
North an South America, Africa, in the East as far as
India. When science - through Giordano
Bruno and Galileo-
informed the Church that the Bible
was wrong about our solar system - it took the Church
over three hundred years to accept the new information.
How long will it take the Church to admit it was wrong
and to apologize for the killing of truly innocent people
who were scholars, mediums, psychics, heretics and Jews?
While
it may seem like a long time ago to us, to those in the
spirit world who were traumatized, it may seem like yesterday.
The only time the Church will truly be free from past
crimes is when it acknowledges it did wrong by killing
people because of their beliefs.

60 police officers - some of them chiefs of police,

FUNCTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL PSYCHICS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL:
Last Saturday night Wendy and I attended the 30th Anniversary
of the Australian (now International) Psychics Association.
The hall was packed with 350 psychics and mediums- what
a marvelous energy. Everyone commented on how wonderful
it is to gather with people of like mind. It was a terrific
night where we met many people who are making a really
wonderful contribution towards improving the image of
the paranormal, mediumship and psychic phenomena. It was
