COMMENTARY: A TIME FOR REFLECTION
Christmas is also a time to reflect on what we did and what happened to us over the last twelve months. We may say we did what we could given the circumstances. We do some good things and some other things - but hopefully, those on the spiritual path will understand quite well that the more help we give to others, the more help we give ourselves. Many of us do try to maintain high standards whenever we can and become exemplary - more honesty, more integrity, more forgiving.

At Christmas time many of us will enjoy reunions with family and friends - and others. Those on the spiritual path know very well that this is just a preview of the ultimate reunion which will be when we re-unite with our crossed over loved ones.

Christmas is also a time to be thankful for all that we have and to reach out to those who are less fortunate than we are. For a number of people Christmas time is a time of loneliness and despair. It can be the saddest time of the year for many who have no friends, no adequate shelter, no adequate clothing and food.

There are many wonderful people who go out of their way to help those who really need help - physically and spiritually at this time of the year in particular. We do what we can given our level of spiritual development.

STUDY FINDS GIVING IS GOOD FOR US!!
According to Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS)-sponsored research, acts of altruism can elicit a positive immune system response:
1) Dr. Jeff Levin, an epidemiologist, found that a correlation exists between almost every dimension of love and patients’ descriptions of better health, more positive emotional well–being, higher self–esteem, and a sense of personal control in their lives.
2) Results of IONS’ Compassionate Intention Study suggest that loving or compassionate intention can influence a person’s physiology, ranging from brain activity measurements to skin conductance.
3) Research by IONS colleague Dr. Stephen Post, professor of bioethics at Case Western Reserve University and president of the Institute for Research on Unlimited Love, suggests a strong correlation between a person’s well-being and their inclination toward altruistic acts.
4) An especially compelling study conducted by Dr. Dean Ornish demonstrated that feelings of increased interconnectedness with others can change gene expression, making relationships critical to health and well–being.

UNCONDITIONAL FORGIVENESS: HAVE YOU REACHED THAT 'UPPER LEVEL'? Christmas can also be a time to re-establish lost or ignored relationships. It can be a time to unconditionally forgive those who did you wrong.- I call it 'reaching the upper level'. So, liberate your mind from all past negative deeds experienced - and unconditionally forgive all those who did you wrong. Some can do that - some not. But all eventually will have to reach that upper level of spirituality. As the caption says (picture left), "FORGIVENESS is not something we do for OTHER PEOPLE. We do it for OURSELVES to GET WELL and MOVE ON."




PARENTS REUNITED WITH THEIR MATERIALISED SONS- A STORY TO GIVE HOPE
Gwen and Alf Byrne's son Russell died in 1963 at the age of 9. Gwen began looking for (and found) evidence of survival through mental mediums. Then in August 1982 she received a phone call that Russell had materialized at a physical mediumship circle through the mediumship of English medium Rita Goold. He had given the name and address of his parents and asked that they be contacted. After this she was reunited with Russell on more than 100 occasions. I interviewed Gwen and Alf Byrne many years ago as well as Pat Jeffrey and her husband who were also reunited with their son. All were very credible witnesses. ANOTHER WITNESS, ALAN CROSSLEY, ATTESTS TO MATERIALISATIONS OF RITA GOOLD

" SOLID spirit forms, an experienced Spiritualist told PN last week, are being obtained at Rita Goold's Leicester home circle. Spiritualist Alan Crossley testified that one figure appeared in "a beautiful lace dress." Another manifested in "a complete military uniform." Mr A Crossley was also reunited with his wife, who passed four years ago. In addition he stated his belief that one of the main communicators is martyred physical medium Helen Duncan. FASCINATING EVIDENCE THROUGH ITC
Sonia Rinaldi, long time instrumental transcommunication researcher from Brazil reports on her latest results.She is using a new technique which she developed. She holds a transparent filter in front of the face of a subject and takes photos with an infrared camera. Paranormal images are sometimes obtained. The picture at left is the of the deceased dog which belonged to the female subject. The picture at right is the picture of the dog which appeared on the plate held over the woman's face. CHESS GAME WITH A DEAD GRAND MASTER
Swiss Parapsychologist Dr Wolfgang Eisenbeiss set up a chess game between two grand masters, one living and the other in the spirit world. He asked a medium, Robert Rollans, to try to contact a deceased grand master who was willing to play. Rollans was a person of integrity who knew absolutely nothing about chess. Rollans claimed he had contact from Géza Maróczy who was the strongest player in the world from 1904-1907 and was willing to play. His living opponent was Viktor Korchnoi, then ranked third in the world. The game went on for seven years. While it was going on Maróczy, the grandmaster in spirit, wrote 38 pages of biographical information in response to Eisenbeiss' questions. Eisenbeiss then obtained the services of Laszlo Sebestyén, a historian and chess expert, to find out if the information could be verified. Out of 92 statements made by the spirit Maróczy, Sebestyén, who dug into library records and interviewed two of Maróczy's surviving children and a cousin, was able to confirm 85 of them as factual. DOCTOR'S NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE

QUESION - 'RELIGION' AND 'SPIRITUALITY': Victor, you mentioned in the past that being religious is not the same as being spiritual - I thought they were the same thing. What is your view?

Victor: No, being religious does not necessarily mean one is being spiritual. For example, attending service on Sunday or Saturday at your Church or Temple or Synagogue. Singing hymns, and where the priest/rabbi uses incense for bring about that peculiar smell. Confession, communion and reciting prayers - these are rituals - which may or may not encourage spirituality. However if your religion encourages you to do selfless service, creates community and sets up groups which do positive things for others for no material reward then it is assisting you to be spiritual. If your religious belief and practice are making you kinder, more loving, more tolerant and spiritually a better person, then your particular religious beliefs are right for you. Remember this: whenever we are spiritual, we RAISE the vibrations of our spiritual body- the higher the vibrations on crossing over the much better you will be in the afterlife.

INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN ATHEIST CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS DIES: #1 New York Times best-selling author of God Is Not Great, a provocative and entertaining guided tour of atheist and agnostic thought through the ages-- Christopher Hitchens died this week. A number of people asked - what's going to happen to him - will he end in some dark realm?

Victor: Ironic in the extreme, if atheist Christopher Hitchens was the 'reasonable open-minded' writer - someone who was not cruel or selfish - and not dogmatic about the afterlife - he is likely to go to the realm of the Light. On crossing over BELIEFS are totally IRRELEVANT. Just because he was an atheist questioning the existing of God will not be enough to stop him entering the realm of the Light. The key issue is what unselfish things he did for others NOT whether he believed in the afterlife or in God. This may come as a huge surprise to some people - but it has been repeatedly and credibly transmitted from the afterlife that it is what we did in our life on planet earth - and the motivation for doing what we did - not what we believed - that is highly critical on crossing over.

TOP TEN THINGS MOST DEAD PEOPLE WANT YOU TO KNOW
1. They're not dead.
2. They are fine.
3. They miss their loved ones.
4 . They are now in perfect health.
5. Life there is hugely better there than on earth.
6. They hate to see their loved ones grieving.

10. They look forward for a happy reunion when the time comes.

*CORRECTION: THE BRUTE DICTATOR WAS NOT A VEGETARIAN: In last week’s report - discussing vegetarianism, I stated that a cable History channel documentary about Hitler - who caused 50 million casualties in world war two, claimed that, 'Hitler was a vegetarian'. It now appears that is a myth. There is evidence that Hitler was NOT a vegetarian.

• Biographers who wrote about Hitler (and who knew him quite well on a personal basis) openly describe his love for Bavarian sausages and game pie ("game" meaning wild meat from birds and other creatures).

• Hitler's own chef openly talked about Hitler's love for stuffed pigeon.

• In none of Hitler's speeches or writing did Hitler state he was a vegetarian or speak in favor of vegetarianism.

• Hitler was regularly given injections of a protein serum made from the testicles of a bull -- not exactly a treatment that would be tolerated by vegetarians.

• None of Hitler's lieutenants were vegetarians, nor was vegetarianism promoted in any way in the Nazi party. Read full article
