COMMENTARY: SPIRITUAL SCIENCE It is wonderful to see the emergence of whole groups of people who embrace the scientific method and at the same time acknowledge spirit or consciousness as the fundamental essence of reality. Rejecting the dogmatism of both materialism and orthodox religion, these people have a vision of the world as sacred and interconnected, and of human life as meaningful and purposeful.
Steve Taylor put forward this view in his book Spiritual Science: Why Science Needs Spirituality to Make Sense of the World. He argued, as we do, that there are so many phenomena that materialism cannot account for and he presents experimental evidence to show that our minds are more intelligent and powerful than present-day science even imagines.
SPIRITUAL AWAKENING: STEVE TAYLOR TALKS TO LILU MACE
Psychologist Steve Taylor claims that 70% of people who experience a spiritual awakening do so following a period of intense suffering, either depression or bereavement or turmoil or trauma.
EXPERIENCES OF ONENESS Many studies now suggest that experiences of oneness are so common as to be considered normal - and up to 40% of people have them at some time in their life. Dr. Charles Tart reports that over the years he has had hundreds of fellow scientists from all sorts of fields quietly come up to him at meetings to tell him about these experiences which challenged their concepts of what the world is. To provide a safe place for scientists to share these experiences he created T.A.S.T.E. - the Archives of Scientists' Transcendent Experiences which now contains accounts of almost a hundred such experiences.

Katharina Dorian is an Austrian actress and singer. After she had lost three family members in a very short time (including her father, Alfred Šramek, a famous bass-baritone at the Vienna State Opera), Katharina Dorian experienced several impressive after-death-contacts.
EMERGENCY WORKERS AND AFTER-DEATH CONTACTS It seems that at least some emergency workers experience contact with the spirits of people whose deaths they attend. DAISY DRYDEN'S DEATHBED VISIONS
Dr. Keith Parsons' intriguing video -- the deathbed observations and conversations of 10-year-old Daisy Dryden. It's unlike any other ‘afterlife’ video he made, as it is not concerned with providing survival evidence, as such. CHERYL PAGE LEARNS TO LISTEN TO SPIRIT After her partner was killed in an accident in 2017, scientist Cheryl Page began receiving signs of his continued presence.
