COMMENTARY: "A NEW THERAPY FOR HEALING GRIEF AND TRAUMA"
For 20 years, Dr. Allan Botkin treated patients at a Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Chicago. He utilized EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is a widely used and proven method of treating PTSD.
While Botkin was using EMDR with a patient in 1995, he added some extra eye movements to the process. He was surprised that this caused the patient to be able to see and talk to a little girl he loved who had been killed in gunfire in Vietnam. From that day forward, the patient, a veteran who had suffered PTSD, found his way back to mental health. For his remaining 8 years at the Vet Hospital, Botkin continued refining and using this new therapy that he called Induced After-Death Communication, in secret.
Dr. Botkin moved into private practice and successfully treated over 3,000 patients, many of whom reported that their intense grieving subsided in one or two sessions and the fear of death no longer existed. Most clients felt they were in the presence of the person who had died and could talk directly to them. Some people saw the person, heard their voice, felt their touch, or could smell them. At first, Allan Botkin thought that these experiences were "all in the mind", but then he discovered that a psychologist who was watching could also see the meeting (Botkin 2005, pp.91-99).

A TRIBUTE TO BILL GUGGENHEIM
The afterlife community has been saddened by the news of the passing of William Guggenheim III on May 20th, 2023. Bill is a pioneer in the field of after-death communication (ADC). He is the co-author (with ex-wife Judy) of the beloved book Hello From Heaven and has written and spoken on this subject for more than 25 years.
As it says on his memorial page "Bill would not want us to grieve his loss, but rather celebrate his exceptional life and joyous transition into the realm of spirit. For those of us who knew him and loved him, this task is much easier said than done. BILL GUGGENHEIM'S DISCOVERIES
One of the first books that we always recommend to those who have lost a loved one is Hello From Heaven by Bill and Judy Guggenheim. In this audio, Bill tells of the personal experiences that led him to co-write the book.
He also gives a wonderfully detailed overview of the different categories of after-death communication and deathbed visions, some of which are not in the book.
DR. ELISABETH TARG'S REMARKABLE AFTER-DEATH COMMUNICATIONS Dr. Elisabeth Targ, daughter of Dr. Russell Targ, was a brilliant doctor and researcher in spiritual healing. She died in 2002 at the age of 42, from a brain tumor. After her death, her co-researcher, Dr. Jane Katra, received more than 35 unexpected communications from her. They started a few hours after her transition. She appeared to Dr. Katra at least 10 miles away from the house where her body lay. In the weeks that followed, lights flashed when people talked about her. A woman wrote down nonsense syllables dictated by Elisabeth during a dream visit that turned out to be a message in Russian ( a language that Elisabeth spoke well). Read more. HOW RUSSELL TARG BECAME CONVINCED THAT ELISABETH HAD SURVIVED DEATH
Russell Targ is an American physicist, parapsychologist, and author who is best known for his work on remote viewing. As detailed above, after his daughter Elisabeth died, several people received communications from her, particularly Jane Katra. We often hear grieving people ask why their loved one was able to get a message or sign to a friend of theirs rather than directly to them.
The usual reason is that grief lowers our vibrations and makes it extremely difficult for our loved ones to contact us. For contact to happen, they need to lower their vibrations and we need to raise ours so we can meet somewhere in between. Meditation is a great way to take a break from negative emotions. It can be as simple as taking a few minutes in a garden, watching a sunset or animals playing.
