COMMENTARY: THE EVOLUTIONARY IMPACT OF NDEs AND OBEs
We are very fortunate to live at a time when knowledge of near-death experiences and out-of-body experiences is propelling humanity forward on an evolutionary journey regarding understanding our place in the universe.
From NDEs we learn that we are eternal beings, and, far from being "miserable sinners" subject to eternal damnation, we are all loved infinitely and with incredible compassion. We learn that we are not victims of fate or a capricious God who assigns some people to a life of hardship and others to a life of ease. Instead, experiencers are consistently told that we co-create our life plan; we agree to take on a physical body for a very short time for a particular purpose that we ourselves develop in collaboration with guides and higher spirits.
From out-of-body
experiencers we learn that the physical universe is a tiny part of a multi-dimensional universe that can be explored even while we are having our short experience in an earth-suit. In the video below, out-of-body experiencer William Buhlman explains why this is so important.
Of course, such profound shifts in world-view will not go unchallenged by both the materialists, who claim that it is all imagination, and the fundamentalists some of whom (according to William Buhlman) are claiming that out-of-body experiences, along with meditation and yoga, are the work of the devil.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
FUNDAMENTALIST AND MYSTICAL RELIGIONS
Melissa Denyce, of Loved Covered Life Podcast, makes an excellent point about fundamentalist religions which
1)
focus on exclusivity (we alone have the truth),
2) strict adherence to doctrines, sacred texts, or rituals, and
3)
see God as something separate from the world.
On the other hand, mystical religions are:
1) inclusive, realising that other religions are valid paths to God
2)
see everything as part of the divine, and
3)
focus on the inner experience of the divine.

THE POWER OF THOUGHT
