COMMENTARY: AWAKEN THE SPIRITUAL GIANT WITHIN Our way of life encourages us to be disconnected from the 'spiritual' part of ourselves. The focus is on the outside world, and we are encouraged to keep ourselves perpetually stimulated with work, shopping, travel, and social media. Many of us are so entranced by the busyness of the physical experience that we do not have TIME to contemplate the bigger picture or to explore spiritual realities.
The fortunate ones do manage to become aware of their spirit - that spark of the Divine which is the spiritual giant within. It might come from a love of family, or the love of an animal, appreciation of a sunrise, or being moved by beautiful music. Spending time in nature can still the busy mind and allow us to make a connection that can be deepened through meditation. And sadly, often it is illness, tragedy, and loss that force us onto a path of spiritual growth.
As people are spurred on to develop their consciousness, they will acquire wisdom and sensitivity they never imagined - a spiritual power that will transform their own lives and those of everyone whose lives they touch. We all have a spiritual giant within us - and we will get to know its full potential in the future - in the higher realms of the afterlife.
A MILLIONAIRE WHO HAD NDE LOST INTEREST IN MAKING MONEY
Many people have a complete change of perspective after a near-death experience. It is very common for them to change careers because their previous occupations did not give them the opportunity to love and help others. One video that illustrates this change of priorities is the Gordon Allen Story featured in the 2003 BBC documentary The Day I Died at 41 mins. Gordon was a very successful businessman who says that he "loved making money". When he came back to his physical body he felt that his heart was "on fire with love" and he felt he could no longer continue in his intense commercial business. He devoted the rest of his life to helping others.

ALBERT BEST- BRILLIANT HEALER AND MEDIUM
Albert Best was an Irish medium who moved to Scotland. He was the mentor to the famous psychic, Gordon Smith. In addition to being a medium, he was also a Spiritual Healer. While he was serving overseas in WWII his wife and three children were killed in an air raid on Belfast. Later in life, he claimed that he had been able to embrace his materialized wife and three children during a home circle with a materialization medium in Glasgow.
On his deathbed, he saw his wife and children in the room with him. Witnesses, including Gordon Smith, state that there were tears of joy in his eyes, and he told visitors: "They've come, you will have to let me go". To which Ann Docherty, another medium present, replied: "We were never holding you, Albert". He gave a last smile and slipped into a coma from which he never awoke. TOM SHADYAC'S MASTERPIECE "I AM - THE DOCUMENTARY" I Am is a 2010 American documentary film written, directed, and narrated by Tom Shadyac. The film asks the question: "What is wrong with the world, and what can we do about it?", and explores Shadyac's journey after a bicycling accident in 2007 which led him to seek answers on "the nature of humanity", "the world's ever-growing addiction to materialism", and "human connections". Shot with Shadyac and a team of four, the film contrasts sharply with the director's most notable comedic works, such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Liar Liar, and Bruce Almighty, all of which he collaborated with Canadian comic actor Jim Carrey.

The book is fascinating, but I was particularly interested in "Appendix I, The Technique of Communication." Briefly, it's a discussion of the difficulty encountered in establishing communication between the spirit world and a new medium or "station," as he called Betty. The description of the spirit's ability, over time, to convey concepts, thoughts, letters, images, and words into a receiver's consciousness while contending with the receiver's own thoughts, ideas, education, language, and personality is fascinating."
