COMMENTARY: URGENT NEED TO SUPPORT
OPEN-MINDED SCIENCE
Even though what happens to us when we die is a topic of
vital interest to every human being, materialist science
in Western society has created a "taboo" or prohibition
on publicly investigating, or even talking about, psychic
phenomena (PSI), the afterlife, and even the nature of consciousness.
David Lorimer is the program director of The
Scientific and Medical Network, an international group
of academics and professionals dedicated to an open-minded
exploration of the boundaries of science. He claims that
many scientists fear "loss of reputation or funding"
if they admit an interest in anything that challenges the
materialist paradigm. This, he says, is made worse by "militant
sceptical movements such as the Wikipedia Guerrilla Skeptics
[that] use intimidating tactics to reinforce this sense
of threat that serves to maintain the status quo at a time
when we need to be expanding rather than restricting the
scientific endeavor, especially with respect to consciousness
research."
If we want this situation to change, it is vitally important
that those of us who are 'awake' to the existence of other
dimensions of life, support the efforts of individual scientists
and researchers who are working to give credibility to the
field. As David Lorimer explains, "It is only with
sufficient visible numbers that scientists and academics
sitting on the fence will feel that they can ‘come
out’ to support in public what many already believe
in private."

SWEDENBORG - THE FATHER OF MODERN SPIRITUALISM
Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772)
was a brilliant
scientist, inventor, and scholar. Considered one of the
three smartest people who ever lived, he began having out-of-body
experiences at the age of 55. For the next 27 years, he
explored other dimensions. He
wrote 18 books explaining that there are many different
levels of existence where people live very pleasant and
interesting lives, just as real as ours on Earth. This information
was a huge shock to Protestant Christianity, which taught
that, after death, it was either heaven sitting on a cloud
or the fires of hell. Swedenborg is said to have appeared
to many of the pioneers of Spiritualism and Spiritism, and,
together with Benjamin Franklin, was the force behind the
development of physical mediumship in 1848. Read

BRILLIANT AFTERLIFE INVESTIGATOR
Montague Keen, a journalist, agricultural administrator,
magazine editor, and farmer, was a member of the Council
of the Society for Psychical Research for 55 years. He was
chairman of its Image and Publicity Committee, and secretary
of its Survival Research Committee. He was also the principal
investigator of the
Scole Group of physical mediums.

STUNNING EVIDENCE FOR THE AFTERLIFE: THE RETURN OF MONTAGUE
KEEN Montague
Keen died while giving a speech about the Scole Experiment
at the Royal Society of Arts on January 15th 2004. During
the next few months, he gave stunning evidence that he had
survived death, coming through mediums all over the world.
He materialised and talked with friends through the physical
mediumship of David Thompson on at least five occasions,
the first only three weeks after his death.
The tape below was made on the 16th April, 2004, five months
after his transition. It records him speaking for a full
twenty minutes to a group of people, including Sandra and
Robin Foy from the Scole Group, and fellow afterlife researcher
Guy Lyon Playfair. He referred to the Enfield Poltergeist
investigation that he had been involved in with Guy, and
gave the number of the house at the center of the investigation
which Guy had kept secret. He also referred to a very favorable
report he had written about David Thompson's mediumship.
He then dictated a speech to be read at his memorial service.

MARION DAMPIER JEANS ON PHYSICAL
MEDIUMSHIP Marion is a
physical medium who lives in England. She has Norwegian
roots and has studied the "old ways" going back
to shamanism in several cultures. Marion talks about her

HAROLD
SHARP CONVINCED BY EVIDENTIAL MEDIUMSHIP According to an article published
in Psychic News (Spring, 1980), Harold Sharp, then
a young man of 17, left for the city with a request from
a farmworker named Sam Redding to “find out whether
there is anything to this Spiritualism.” Sam’s
daughter “Sis” had passed some time before,
and he longed to hear from her. Without revealing his identity,
he obtained the names of several mediums and went immediately
to the closest one. The first medium not only greeted Harold
by name but gave him evidence of his father and a message
to Sam Redding from Sis. Intrigued, Harold visited the other
mediums. Harold gave the medium Hester Dowden a pseudonym.

WHAT IS AN AURAGRAPH? According to Harold Sharp
(1890-1980), who coined the term, auragraphs are “an
artistic diagram of the human aura.” The most common
way to make an auragraph is for the psychic to draw a circle
or oval pattern and then begin to add colours and images
to the shape according to what they see in a person's aura.
The psychic then interprets these; for example, a blue waterfall
might suggest someone is pouring a lot of self-less love
into a project or person. Usually, the bottom part of the
auragraph represents the sitter’s past, whereas the
highest point shows their potential.

hide in. It took Esther two weeks to find the barn because
she could only move about at night. When she finally found
it, she made a startling discovery: her brother, whom she
had believed had been shot to death during a Nazi execution
of young Jewish men, emerged from a shadowy corner of the
building. He had been hiding in the barn for nine months.

Youth Works founder Bernie Shakeshaft, based in Armidale
NSW, has helped more than 1,000 vulnerable young people
to get off the streets and stay out of jail while realising
their hopes and dreams. A big part of his program is pairing
