COMMENTARY: A TIME
FOR REFLECTION AND GRATITUDE
very warmest wishes to all of our subscribers for Christmas,
Hanukkah, and all the celebrations of family, community,
and culture that take place at this special time of the
year. Many of us will enjoy reunions with family and friends.
Those on the spiritual path know very well that this is
just a preview of the reunions which we will experience
when we re-unite with our crossed over loved ones at the
end of this very short episode in our eternal existence.
Our special wishes go out to those for whom the holidays
are challenging. But whatever our situation, at this time
of year and at all times, we all have reason to express
gratitude. Why? Because we have knowledge that we are
part of an extraordinary ongoing evolutionary adventure.
And we know that, however difficult, the opportunity of
a physical life is an enormous spiritual gift and that
those in spirit are applauding our courage for being here,
and are cheering us on.
DIRECTLY FROM THE AFTERLIFE
will all live after you have ‘died’, and you
will not realize until then what it is to live or to feel
the real glory of life untrammeled, free to rejoice in
liberty of spirit which your imprisoned souls cannot understand
to-day … all the experiences which you like least
of all - the sadness, the bitterness, the tears, the disappointments,
the suffering and the pain - these are very valuable for
your souls …But you cannot realize that at the time.
It is only when you can look back on the whole, and not
judge by the part, that you can get a clear picture of
the values of life. Through all your adversities the character
is tried. Through tears and sorrow the soul is strengthened
… How very simple are these great truths, so simple
that they are beyond many of your intellectuals!".

AND NOW FOR SOME MORE GOOD NEWS Dr. Angus Hervey from Future
Crunch writes: "Maybe, like us, you willingly
chose to take part in this crazy, collective global experiment:
take a nervous system that's evolved for running away
from cheetahs, and give it a big glowing screen showing
it all the bad things happening in the world in near real
But as he points out, "That wasn’t the only
news. There were other stories out there, stories of conservation,
better health, rising living standards, tolerance, peace,
cleaner energy, and environmental stewardship. Most of
them didn’t make it onto our Facebook feeds though,
and that means that what we saw on our screens in 2019
was not the world. It was a negative image of the world,
in both the photographic and tonal senses." Here
good news stories that could lift the tone of conversation
over the holidays.
PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF
It is so important
for us personally, and as a species, to surround ourselves
and our families with stories of positivity, persistence,
and hope. We love that Future Crunch

HOW DO THE HIGHER SPIRITS CELEBRATE
CHRISTMAS IN THE
Michael Tymn reports what Silver Birch
has said on the matter. "At what might be called
retreats here on earth, these advanced spirits take counsel
from even higher spirits, share experiences, learn how
far they have succeeded or failed, and formulate plans
for future missions. Among those higher spirits who give
counsel, he said, “is the great figure of the Nazarene,
who is still imbued with the task of teaching humanity
age-old truth enshrined in all that we seek to do, that
love is the fulfilling of the law.”
ROSEMARY'S NDE AND SPONTANEOUS
HEALING Rosemary Ringer had been
diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer when, after a routine
medical procedure, she ended up bleeding to "temporary
death," during which she had an intense Near-Death
Experience or NDE. Assured by angels during her sojourn
in the afterlife, Rosemary had a complete remission of
cancer and rapidly healed from her medical trauma. She
also experienced healing from the grief of her husband's
earlier suicide. This profound NDE led her to transform
her life completely.
STUDY FINDS GIVING IS GOOD FOR

>acts of altruism can elicit a positive immune system
Jeff Levin, an epidemiologist, found that a correlation
exists between almost every dimension of love and patients’
descriptions of better health, more positive emotional
well–being, higher self–esteem, and a sense
of personal control in their lives. 2) Results of IONS’
Compassionate Intention Study suggest that loving
or compassionate intention can influence a person’s
physiology, ranging from brain activity measurements to
skin conductance. 3) Research by IONS colleague Dr. Stephen
Post, professor of bioethics at Case Western Reserve University
and president of the Institute
for Research on Unlimited Love, suggests a strong
correlation between a person’s well-being and their
inclination toward altruistic acts. 4) An especially compelling study conducted
Dean Ornish demonstrated that feelings of increased
interconnectedness with others can change gene expression,
making relationships critical to health and well–being.
BRAZILIAN SURGEON TALKS ABOUT HIS
EXPERIENCES OF MATERIALIZATION
Dr. Paulo Cesar Fructuoso is leading surgeon who has had
extensive experience with physical mediumship in present-day
Brazil. At first, he was concerned that going public with
his accounts of materialised spirits operating on patients
would affect his career. But then he learned from his
research that some of the greatest scientists in history
had the same experiences. Our thanks to Luis Sergio Marotta
who hosts a bi-lingual English/Portuguese youtube channel
Connections' and has provided an English translation
of Dr. Fructuoso's talk.
FOR THE AFTERLIFE:
CHESS GAME WITH A DEAD GRANDMASTER
Parapsychologist Dr. Wolfgang Eisenbeiss set up a chess
game between two grandmasters, one living and the other
in the spirit world. He asked a medium, Robert Rollans,
to try to contact a deceased grandmaster who was willing
to play. Rollans was a person of integrity who knew absolutely
nothing about chess. Rollans claimed he had contact from
Géza Maróczy, the strongest player in the
world from 1904-1907, who was willing to play.
His living opponent was Viktor Korchnoi, then ranked third
in the world. The game went on for seven years. While
it was going on, Maróczy, the grandmaster in spirit,
wrote 38 pages of biographical information in response
to Eisenbeiss' questions. Eisenbeiss then obtained the
services of Laszlo Sebestyén, a historian and chess
expert, to find out if the information could be verified.
Out of 92 statements made by the spirit Maróczy,
Sebestyén, who dug into library records and interviewed
two of Maróczy's surviving children and a cousin,
was able to confirm 85 of them as factual. The remaining
seven may have been factual, but no records could be found
to confirm them. Read

SPIRIT RELEASE THERAPY IN SPIRITISM Last Sunday, Luis Sergio
Marotta talked with us about Spiritist healing circles
conducted by mediums in Brazil following the teachings
of medium Chico Xavier. He claims that unresolved conflicts
can lead to people being negatively affected by the influence
of spirits no longer alive. The aim of the therapy is
to facilitate forgiveness by creating a dialogue with
the discarnate person.

Below is a wonderful review of our
book on Amazon.com by a fellow lawyer, Tim O'Laughlin.
Thanks Tim, much appreciated.
"This is the most persuasive case I have ever seen
presented by any lawyer on any subject during my 35 years
in the profession. I have personally experienced many
of the things described, some of which got me involuntarily
committed in 2013, when I received telepathic communications
from my deceased parents. If the medical professionals
and my family members had the information in this book,
rather than ignorance to guide them, my experience would
probably have been a lot more pleasant, in that I would
not have been forced to recant and deny some of the most
emotionally uplifting experiences I have had, just to
escape the loony bin. I can now confirm that finding out
that you're not crazy after all is a very affirming experience..
but it pales in comparison to the absolute confirmation
that we are eternal and immortal beings having a human
experience. That bit of information doesn't just take
the cake ... it is the cake."
A SWEET CHRISTMAS
SONG: CLIFF RICHARD'S 'MISTLETOE AND WINE' We
love the line in this song "time to rejoice in the
good that we see."
Originally written for the musical Scraps, an adaptation
of Hans Christian Andersen's The
Little Match Girl, the writers intended it to
be sung by well-to-do carol singers who are indifferent
to the fate of the starving little match girl, despite
the words they sing. Cliff Richard liked the song but
changed the lyrics to make it more religious. It became
his twelfth UK number-one single, spending four weeks
at the top in December 1988
